Our team is growing and we need another Web Application Developer on our team to help meet the growing demand for our Cemetery Information Management System (CIMS), a product of Ramaker. CIMS stores cemetery maps and records in one place, making management easier for the dedicated people who keep their cemeteries running. The technology allows users to view real-time insights into what's sold and what's available - all on an accurate digital map of the cemetery.

You will play a key role in creating and maintaining a reliable, user-friendly, and secure system that helps cemeteries streamline operations and service families with compassion and precision. You will work both independently and collaboratively with others on the team to meet the current and future needs of cemetery owners.

Most of Ramaker's employee-owners work remotely from their homes, but have the option to work from our Madison, WI office if they prefer an onsite or hybrid work environment. To be considered, you must reside in the United States and be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Your day to day as a Web Application Developer

In this role, you will write well designed, testable, efficient code for the development of the CIMS web application suite of cemetery management products. Additionally, you will provide direct customer support for CIMS cloud clients, create and maintain software documentation, and be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling the CIMS cloud application and other web-based applications Ramaker develops.

What matters most

To thrive as a Web Application Developer, you will possess a bachelor's degree in a computer science related field or have at least five years of relevant experience. 

You will be proficient in modern programming techniques and frameworks and have a deep understanding of Amazon Web Services and PHP/Laravel. Exposure to TALL Stack (Tailwind, Alpine.js, Laravel, and Livewire), Tilestache, Mapnik, Leaflet, Javascript, JSON, PostgreSQL, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technologies are preferred. 

You will have a continuous improvement mindsight, willing to pitch in wherever is needed, and excited to continue learning.

This role requires professional-level written and spoken English. We pride ourselves on our customer support and this position will require direct client interactions both verbally and in written format.
